Bray looking to close the gap.

After 3 events, two quarter final exits, one semi-final appearance, a top qualifier and one high speed recorded - the first half of the ANDRA season comes down to this week-end's race for Armor All Funny Car driver Ben Bray. Currently fourth in the ANDRA Top Alcohol Championship race, Bray is battling the top five drivers (separated by 87 points) in his quest for the title, and is hopeful (as always)that his team will come through with a Championship performance. This is the track that Ben ran his first 5.50 pass in Sydney, Australia.

"You can't get where we are without having done a lot of things right and our team is fired up and ready to go. I would really like to get past the semi-finals in the elimination rounds and go for the Championship in the second half of the season," Bray said.

"We've been in several tough situations already this year and every time this team has done their very best. It's like in football, one of those times when you don't think about whether you'll make the kick, you just want the ball. Because you know what will happen when you get your hands on it - you'll put it through the posts.

"I'm ready - just hope the ball gets passed my way," he said.

Bray, who became the 2006 Champion in just his first full year in Top Alcohol, is no stranger to high-pressure situations. In racing, he has won two ANDRA Championships in Top Doorslamer competition, each one coming during eliminations at the final races of the season.

Qualifying for Round 4 of the Top Alcohol ANDRA Championship is scheduled at 5.25, 7.25 and 9.35 p.m. on Saturday, December 8. Eliminations are scheduled for 2.30, 4.25 and 6.20pm December 9 (all times GMT + 11).
